Project: Swimming Pool and Spa Building
The CPC40820 Certificate IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Building
The CPC40820 Certificate IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Building was approved by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) at its April meeting.
However, the implementation of this qualification will be delayed until all previous CPC release 5.0 projects, presented to the AISC meeting in February, are approved for implementation. It is anticipated that this will occur by August 2020.
A long running consultation process in relation to the development of the Certificate IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Building has resulted in a qualification that provides:
- greater flexibility to meet individual learner and enterprise needs. This is achieved by changes to the packaging rules. There are now eight core units and ten elective units. (In the superseded qualification there were seventeen core units and one elective unit).
- the technical skills and knowledge specific to swimming pool and spa building. This is achieved by the development of ten new industry specific units.
- opportunities for continuing professional development with elective units available on safety, planning and project management and small business management.
- a career pathway to attract and retain people in this niche industry sector.
